Generator Reflector

Generator vs Reflector

A Generator has a defined Sacral and responds to life in the moment; a Reflector has no defined centers at all and needs a full ~28.5-day lunar cycle to reach clarity on major decisions.

What's the difference between a Generator and a Reflector?

Generators run on a single, consistent internal signal — the Sacral response — available every day. Reflectors, the rarest Type at roughly 1% of the population, have all nine centers undefined, so there’s no fixed internal signal to consult; each day’s experience is shaped by whoever and whatever is around them, and a coherent decision only assembles across a full lunar cycle.

How do I know which one I am?

If your Sacral center is defined, you're a Generator (assuming no motor-to-Throat channel). If none of your nine centers are defined, you're a Reflector — the only Type defined by the complete absence of definition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a Reflector need a whole month to decide?
Because the Moon transits every gate in the chart over roughly 28.5 days, and a Reflector experiences a decision from each of those angles in turn. The clarity that arrives at the end of the cycle comes from that full sampling, not a single moment of insight.
Do Reflectors have a Sacral response like Generators?
No. Sacral Authority belongs only to Generators and Manifesting Generators, whose Sacral center is defined. A Reflector’s Sacral is undefined along with every other center, so there’s no gut yes/no to rely on.
Is a Reflector's day-to-day decision-making different too?
Yes. For smaller daily choices, Reflectors are guided by talking things through with trusted people in the right environment — the people and place themselves function as part of the decision, unlike a Generator’s internal Sacral check.
