What is a defined vs undefined center?
A defined center (shown colored on your chart) produces consistent, reliable energy that you broadcast outward to others. An undefined center (shown white) is open — it doesn't generate its own fixed energy, but instead takes in and amplifies the energy of other people's defined centers around it.
There are 9 Centers total, and the specific combination of which ones are defined versus open in your BodyGraph is unique to you (barring identical birth data). Defined centers tend to feel like a stable part of your identity — "this is just how I am" — while undefined centers are where you're most likely to take on other people's energy as if it were your own, which is the mechanism behind conditioning.
Neither state is better: defined centers offer consistency, undefined centers offer flexibility and, over time, wisdom gained from sampling many different expressions of that center's theme.

- How many centers does everyone have?
- Nine total — Head, Ajna, Throat, G, Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, Spleen, and Root — each either defined or undefined in any given chart.
- Can a center be partially defined?
- A center is only truly "defined" when at least one full channel connects it to another center; a single unconnected Gate on a center doesn't define it.
- Do undefined centers cause conditioning?
- Yes — because they take in and amplify others' energy, undefined centers are the primary place where conditioning from family, culture, and relationships takes hold.
