Which centers are the motor centers in Human Design?
There are four motors: the Sacral, the Root, the Solar Plexus, and the Heart/Ego. They're the centers that generate energy rather than process or express it, and the single most consequential fact about them is whether one of them connects to the Throat by a fully defined channel — that connection is what makes a chart a Manifestor or a Manifesting Generator rather than a Projector or a Generator.
Each motor supplies a different kind of fuel. The Sacral is sustainable work and life force; the Root is adrenaline and pressure to get things moving; the Solar Plexus is emotional energy running as a wave; the Heart/Ego is willpower, which comes in bursts and needs rest afterward. The remaining five centers — Head, Ajna, Throat, G, and Spleen — are awareness, expression, and direction rather than energy.
This is also why the Throat matters so much: it's the only center that turns energy into speech and action, so a motor without a route to it produces energy that has to find another outlet.

- Is the Spleen a motor?
- No. The Spleen is an awareness center — instinct, health, and survival intelligence — not an energy generator.
- What does motor-to-Throat mean?
- That one of the four motors is joined to the Throat by fully defined channels, directly or through a chain, which lets energy reach expression without waiting.
- Which motor is strongest?
- The Sacral is the only one built for sustained daily output. The Heart and Root work in bursts, and the Solar Plexus runs in waves.
