How to Read Today's Transit
Start with the Sun. It carries the bulk of the day's imprint, so its gate is the theme running underneath everything else — the mood you would notice if you compared today to yesterday.
Then read the Earth gate directly beneath it. The Earth is always opposite the Sun, and it describes what grounds that theme. A day is rarely understood from the solar half alone.
The Moon is the one to watch if you are planning something practical. It changes gate roughly every eleven hours, so the drive of a morning is often not the drive of an evening.
The outer planets — Uranus, Neptune, Pluto — barely move. Reading them as daily news is a mistake; they are the slow background the faster activations play against.
Finally, compare the transit gates to the gates in your own chart. A transit gate that lands next to one you already carry completes a channel and temporarily gives you a definition you do not usually have. That is where a transit is actually felt.
What Is a Human Design Transit?
A Human Design transit is the current position of the sun, moon and planets translated into the 64 gates and 384 lines of the BodyGraph. It is calculated the same way a birth chart is, except the moment being calculated is now rather than the moment you were born.
Human Design holds that neutrinos streaming from the sun carry information and imprint anything they pass through, including you. Your own chart is the imprint frozen at birth — it does not change. The transit is the imprint arriving today, and it is identical for every person alive at this moment.
That is what makes a transit different from a personal reading. Nobody has a private transit. The 33.4 that the Sun sits in today sits there for everyone. What is personal is the interaction: where those universal gates land on top of your fixed design, which of your hanging gates they complete, and which of your open centers they temporarily fill in.
This is also why transits are worth checking regularly rather than once. The Moon changes gate roughly twice a day, the Sun about every five and a half days, and the outer planets take years.
