Why do different sites give me different Human Design charts?
Four causes account for nearly every mismatch: historical time zone and daylight-saving handling for your birth date, how the calculator derives the Design side (88 degrees of solar arc versus a flat 88 days), the precision of the birth-place coordinates, and simple input error such as a 12-hour clock entered wrong. The underlying planetary positions are not in dispute — the differences come from how the birth moment is converted to universal time before those positions are looked up.
Time zone history is the biggest single culprit. Many countries changed offsets or ran daylight saving on dates that later moved, so a calculator using a modern fixed offset instead of a historical time zone database can be an hour off — enough to shift the Moon a gate and, occasionally, your Type.
The Design side matters too. Human Design defines it as the moment the Sun was 88 degrees of solar arc earlier, which lands roughly but not exactly 88 days before birth; a calculator that subtracts 88 calendar days instead will drift by a gate on some charts.
If two charts disagree, compare the raw inputs first — the UTC time each one resolved your birth moment to — before assuming either system is wrong.

- Which chart should I trust?
- The one that resolved your birth moment to the correct historical UTC time. Check the birth data each calculator echoes back before comparing the BodyGraphs.
- Can a one-hour error really change my Type?
- Yes, though it's uncommon. The Moon crosses a gate about every ten hours, so an hour's error can complete or break a channel and change the Type it produces.
- Does the birth city need to be exact?
- Close is enough for the planetary positions, but the city determines which historical time zone rules apply, so pick the actual town rather than the nearest big city.
