What is a Profile in Human Design?
Your Profile describes the role you tend to play in life and how you interact with others — it's one of the 12 Profiles, each written as a pair of numbers (like 1/3, 2/4, or 5/1). The numbers come from the line of the I Ching hexagram activated by your Sun at your exact birth moment (Conscious) and the line activated roughly 88 days before birth (Unconscious).
Each of the six line numbers carries its own theme — for example, line 1 relates to investigation, line 3 to trial and error, line 5 to being drawn into projection by others. Your Profile combines two of these six themes, giving a specific flavor to how you show up, distinct from your Type and Authority, which govern energy and decision-making rather than social role.
