What is an Incarnation Cross?
Your Incarnation Cross is the layer of your Human Design chart that points to the larger theme or purpose running through your life — while your Type describes how your energy works and your Authority describes how to decide, the Incarnation Cross addresses the deeper "why." It's built from the four Gates activated by the Sun and Earth at your birth (Conscious) and roughly 88 days before it (Unconscious).
Because it's built from Gate activations rather than Center definition, the Incarnation Cross is a more specific, individual layer than Type — while Type sorts people into five broad categories, the Incarnation Cross draws on a much larger combination of Gates, giving it far more individual variation.
